The situation in which an individual holds shares in a Singaporean company and applies for an EP as a company shareholder is defined as an Entrepreneur Pass, with the applicant being the owner of the company.
 
Employment Pass
 
  • If one doesn’t hold a shareholder’s position but applies as an employee of the company, it would be considered a regular Employment Pass (EP) application, with the applicant being an employee of the company.
  • There is no difference in the pass types between the Entrepreneur Pass (EP) and the Employment Pass (EP), but there is a difference in the role within the company.
  • The criteria for approval when applying for permanent residence may vary based on the applicant’s role within the company.
